Thought becomes inaccessible wherever the human is installed as its prior measure. Different bodies and technical organisations may integrate differences and alter their responses without reproducing the appearance, language, or experience through which humans recognise themselves.
Chapter 4 examines cognition through operations instead of resemblance to human performance; Chapter 5 follows subjectivity as a process of integration and change whose continuity need not depend on an immutable identity; Chapter 6 extends the displacement into ethics, where alterity can require a response before similarity has been established.
The non-human gesture remains a question of material effects and capacities, not a licence to attribute consciousness indiscriminately. Its force lies in suspending a criterion that could recognise only copies of ourselves. Other forms of thought or vulnerability must be approached through what they do and undergo within specific relations.
