Theme introduction
Introduction to Theme II
Code acts through material executions that select and combine differences before transforming them. When iteration produces an unforeseen configuration, the novelty belongs to the operation and its effects even if no intention accompanied its production.
Chapter 4 examines code as an organisation capable of making real differences; Chapter 5 separates symbolic operation from exclusive ownership by the human species; Chapter 6 follows creation beyond intention, asking what changes when a process generates a result that neither copies its inputs nor realises a fully specified prior image.
Logic outside the organic body remains dependent on material substrates and protocols that impose costs. Its products enter human fields of interpretation without being reducible to a programmer's conscious plan. The theme locates technical creation in this interval between constrained execution and outcomes whose significance must still be recognised and contested.
