Introduction to Theme I
A form becomes visible where material forces meet limits, exchange energy, and acquire enough consistency to endure. Friction therefore carries a productive tension: it constrains movement while opening configurations that no isolated element could sustain.
Chapter 1 locates the birth of form in this encounter; Chapter 2 follows the consequence that no body exists apart from the field of relations supporting it; Chapter 3 then examines order as an active maintenance of tensions whose balance remains exposed to change.
The theme replaces the image of matter receiving a prior design with a stricter account of organisation. Stability has duration and effects, yet it survives only through continuing relations. Form is the local achievement of matter under constraint, never an independent principle imposed upon it.
