Dialogues and Criticism

1. Relationship with the History of Philosophy

This text is a critical sweep of the entire Western tradition. Accuses Anaximandro, Plato, Aristotle, Kant and even Heidegger e Derrida of suffering from the same evil: the fear of emptiness. Everyone invented something to "fill the hole" of origin (the Apeiron, the Ideas, the Immovable Engine, the Categories, the Différance).

"Nobody thought of the emergence as something that doesn't come from anything - but also doesn't happen to anything."

2. Dialogue with Science

Although philosophical, the text aligns with the theory of Big Bang (singularity without "before" defined) and with the Quantum Mechanics (vacuum fluctuations). Modern science already accepts that the universe can emerge "from nothing" (quantum fluctuation), giving reason to the intuition of this text.

Three Proposed Ruptures

  • Contra a Causalidade Linear: The effect may be greater than the cause. The emergence creates more than there was.
  • Contra o Fundacionalismo: There are no foundations at the bottom of reality; the real fluctuates.
  • Contra a Nostalgia: We didn't lose anything because we never took anything for granted. The origin It's not a loss, it's an opening.
