OCE
Confrontation & Analysis

Dialogues and Criticism

1. Criticism of Parmenides

Parmenides said that "being is and non-being is not", denying change. OCE reverses this: change is the unique constant, and "being" (stability) is just slow change.

"There is no immovable principle. There is only matter which, from instability absolute, invent temporary ways to last."

Pontos Robustos

  • Compatible with thermodynamics (entropy) and quantum mechanics (uncertainty).
  • Demystifies the idea of "original perfection" (Eden, the Golden Age).
  • Explains the fragility of all structures (political, biological, cosmic).

Reception Weaknesses

It can generate existential anxiety (the lack of safe ground). Traditional philosophy offered consolation; to OCE offers vertigo.

2. Dialogue with Prigogine

Ilya Prigogine (Nobel Prize in Chemistry) studied "dissipative structures" - systems that self-organise far of balance. OCE embraces this view: order is not the opposite of chaos, it is a byproduct of chaos.
