No Foundation, Just Relationship

1 Fundacionalismo Antigo

The first philosophers sought arched - unique material principle of all things. Thales proposes water; Anaximenes proposes air; Anaximander advances to the ápeiron, unlimited and indeterminate. Aristotle systematizes foundationalism: first substance (ousia) is that which exists for itself, not for another.

2 Fundacionalismo Moderno

Descartes seeks indubitable epistemic foundation through methodical doubt: cogito ergo sum. A OCE responde: o cogito it is an emergent effect of complex material processes - neurons, synapses, neuronal circuits. Not ontological foundation, but temporary material configuration.

Spinoza dissolves transcendence - Deus sive Natura - but maintains infinite single substance. The OCE even rejects this single substance: there are multiple configurations without necessary unity, contingency rather than geometric necessity.

Kant proposes ways a priori - space, time, categories - as a transcendental foundation of experience. OCE responds: forms a priori they are contingent historical constructions. Kuhn demonstrates that paradigm shifts alter basic categories; Foucault shows that epistemes they organise knowledge in a historically variable way.

3 Contemporary Relational Physics

General Relativity (1916) establishes constitutive circularity: space-time geometry is determined by matter-energy distribution; matter-energy moves according to the curvature of geometry.

Carlo Rovelli radicalizes in Relational Quantum Mechanics (1996): quantum properties are not absolute - they are relational. System state is not an intrinsic property; it is a relationship with another system. There is no "state of the electron itself"; there is only "state of the electron relative to the measuring device". It is important to emphasize: "observer" is not consciousness, but any physical system capable of interacting.

Whitehead e Smolin they develop process cosmology: there is no "matter that endures"; there are only events that follow each other maintaining relations of continuity. Substance is metaphysical fiction - there are only relational processes.

4 Symbolic Relationality

Saussure establishes: linguistic value is relational difference. "In language there are nothing but differences." The meaning of a sign is not absolute - it is a position in the network of differences.

Wittgenstein dissolves linguistic foundation: meaning is use in language games. There is no essence of meaning - there are relational practices. "Family resemblances" - not common property, but network of relationships.

Quine develops semantic holism: knowledge is a network - there are no isolated foundational propositions. Any proposition can be revised if the global system requires it. Relational epistemology analogous to relational ontology: without epistemic foundation, as without ontological foundation.
