Authorless Gesture

The reason came late. Not to an event, but to a composition that was already being created without a name. The world, before of any cognition, he was already leaning, he was already bending, he was already insisting. But reason, when it emerges as an instance of symbolic organisation, interpreted this previous not as an operative condition, but as an enigma to resolve. Instead of listening to what preceded her, she questioned him as if she had been waiting for him. And like all its structure is based on the need for internal coherence, it saw what preceded it not as a matrix of emergence, but an illegitimate interval - something that, by not responding, seemed to lack reason.

It is at this point that reason becomes an obstacle. Not because of insufficiency, but because of excessive loyalty to herself. He tries to think about what is not directed at him. Applies categories that were born in already organised bodies - as identity, causality, purpose - to a regime that never obeyed them. And so, everything that doesn't enters his schemes and appears as a rupture, as a failure, as an absence. But there is an error in this diagnosis: the What reason calls absence is not emptiness - it is another order. A regime of operations without a plan, of twists without intentionality, of consistency without prior form.

The origin did not wait to be thought of. It did not arise because it was invoked, nor did it respond to a structure. It happened as a minimal incidence, as a variation that was maintained, as an articulation that did not fall apart. It wasn't a beginning in the sense that something begins. It was an inflection, a local persistence of matter in reorganisation. None of this was chosen. None of this has been decided. And yet all this happened. A emergence of the real does not belong to the intentional regime. It belongs to the regime of what works - and, therefore, function, it becomes durable. Its consistency is not guaranteed by a principle, but by an effectiveness operation that survives by chance.

Philosophy, in trying to think about this regime, stumbled upon its own architecture. Even when it breaks with previous systems, retains the compulsion to locate, justify, organise. Even deconstruction, negativity or contingency, maintain an economy of the before: everything is derivation, deviation, postponement. Almost no one thought that there could be an operation that did not come from any structure. That was not born from lack, power or error. A movement that repairs nothing - because nothing was damaged. That no starts - because it doesn't happen. Who doesn't answer - because there was no call.

This movement is what can be called an inscription prior to the sign. Not a voluntary mark, but a modulation of matter that, when reorganised, produces difference without intention. The inscription before the sign is the threshold where the real begins to retain forms before giving them names - where variation becomes consistency without yet being a symbol, but already establishing distinction. Its nature is not expressive, but operative. The inscription does not represent anything: it only establishes a regime where the difference ceases to be dissipate immediately and start to last.

Reason, in this scenario, does not disappear or collapse. But see your place off-center. It ceases to be the origin and becomes derivation. It can only operate because there has already been an operation. You can only organise because there has already been persistence. You can only think because there was already form. Your task, then, is not to justify the beginning, but to recognizing that it arrived late - and that thinking, in its most radical case, is listening to what was already being done without it.

The birth of the universe was not the result of a decision or an imbalance. There was no cutting, nor inaugural substance. What happened was matter that, when changing, found a point of retention. A small twist that lasted longer than the moment that gave rise to it. This duration was not temporal. It was functional. It was a relationship that, without a subject, organised a consistency. And in that consistency, everything we call today The world began to reorganise itself.

But there was no beginning. There was just an operation. A fold that was not known to fold. An inscription that is not referred to nothing. A thing I didn't know I was doing - and yet it persisted. This event was not dramatic, neither central nor metaphysical. It was only real: real in the sense that, without intention, it installs and repeats.

Thinking about this plan is not describing it. It is recognizing that thinking, in this case, is not elaborating, but welcoming. There are materiality before any system. There are couplings before any observation. There is instability that reorganises itself without expecting recognition. And it is in this blind reorganisation that the universe begins to come into being - not because it was created, but because it became possible.

Because the origin does not wait, does not respond, does not represent, it only inscribes itself, without memory, without will, without figure, but with the power to make last what, for a moment, was almost lost.

"The origin does not begin - it continues without knowing that it persists."
